You’re already gave the reason. Someone was breaking into a car. |
They reason they fired the gun is because the criminals were engaged in behavior that put their protectee in danger. They are not going to wait long enough to assess whether it’s just a run of the mill DC juvenile delinquent or a terrorist. |
There are people who live among us that believe this. We’re in trouble. |
| Why can't the federal government just buy everyone a car? |
Yes that is what happens when you FAFO with SS vehicle. I am with other PPs, too bad the missed. But not to worry, these little princes are unharmed and on the next caper. |
Liberal and starting to agree. I’m sure some kids are “Joy ridding” but it’s really gotten out of hand. |
Indeed, the lack of criticism of the shooter in that case was remarkable--I heard NO comments like "oh they were just two kids messing around" or "the officer was racist". People have had enough. |
Doesn’t have to be a government vehicle as we now know that is to a hero in Brookland earlier this year. |
The boldness of these car thieves is mind-blowing. |
There is no indication in the press release or elsewhere that the protectee was ever in danger. The agent shot at people breaking into a vehicle. |
| If DC would FINALLY build more bike lanes the kids wouldn’t need to steal cars as often. #bikelanesarehumanrights |
His only mistake was missing. |

This is odd. Shooting at someone in a very crowded neighborhood when no one was in harms way doesn’t make sense and certainly isn’t SOP.
There are a bunch of Secret Service protectees in my immediate neighborhood and I can’t see the agents shooting like this. |
|
There may be part of the story we won't hear.
I also wonder if significant weapons in the car--automatic weapons to grenade launchers--that would would put agents at risk--justify the shooting. |
