Huge meeting tomorrow and suddenly hit by something- what can I do?

It sounds like you have a cold. Did you never go to work with a cold before? What has happened to us?

For most people chills and dizziness are not symptoms of a basic cold. She isn't talking about minor sniffles, she is actively sick.

OP, hope the good night's sleep helped. Dayquil or Sudafed this morning. Because they all traveled from abroad you could bring a mask and let them all know you're ill and happy to wear it to avoid them getting sick on their trip. Being sick in a hotel room really sucks.

I would do it virtually. There is no need to make them sick. And then have them take it back to their country and infect everyone there…

Back in my day, when one of us got a cold we all got that cold, and we all liked it. We continued to work while miserable and made sure to spread that baby around to as many people as possible.

Always have a backup. You are sick and SHOULDN'T go to the meeting, but what if you got hit by a bus and COULDN'T?

Please wear a mask. It's not fair to give other people COVID just because you felt you couldn't find a different solution.

If OP were in the hospital, I think everyone would understand. If she has the sniffles, she'll be expected to present.

I hope a good night's sleep does the trick, OP. If you do really need to be there, I think the advice to get some real Sudafed is best. Power through, you can sleep afterwards.

+1 on the Sudafed and make sure you hydrate. The dizziness can be a sign of dehydration, and Sudafed should dry you up. Good luck, OP!

These people don't want a shameless and gross OP sneezing and coughing and poorly communicated. It's a poop cherry on OP's failure to prepare properly.

I travel long distances internationally for work. I also understand that meetings sometimes have to get canceled. I don't expect people with a fever to show up to meetings. In fact, I very much prefer it if they don't!

Stat get a virtual link set up. You cannot do this meeting in person with flu or covid.

The people traveling internationally will also likely have covid by the time they arrive at the meeting.

OP said this meeting can't be changed, no one can cover, she's oh so important, la did da. So regardless of whether you think the reason is valid, her company failed in not having any contingency plans for this super VIP meeting.

In the last 2 hours I’ve suddenly been hit by a raspy feeling in my lungs/chest, slight sore throat, chills/hot feeling, and dizziness. No fever and my temp is actually reading lower than my normal. I don’t have a Covid test left in the house but also…cannot have Covid and blow this meeting up.

I have cold meds, ginger, smoothie supplies, and zinc. DH is taking over and I’m going to bed right now and can sleep 10 hours if I can fall asleep. Should I do anything else?

I’m so used to cancelling or going virtual for every little sniffle these past years but those days in my org are definitely over. Tell me how to function tomorrow!

yes you can have COVID. Shingles doesn't care, COVID doesn't care (that you have a meeting)

Doesn’t matter if it’s Covid. OP sleep, antihistamines, Advil, and some tea tomorrow before work. Then come home and sleep.

So they can most possibly infect every other person at the meeting with whatever they have?
