Halloween night. What time are your lights off?

When the candy runs out! Which some years is close to 9, this year it was just after 8. I felt bad but my own kids weren’t back yet for me to raid their bags, so off it went.

Some of us have to be up at 4 for work. You know that, right?

There will be plenty of time to sleep when you are dead.

The earliest you can shut it down on Halloween is 8:30…but 8:45 is better.

Wow, didn’t realize you were in charge of Halloween.

Whenever it runs out. Today that was at 7:30pm. There were tons of kids! Last year we didn't run out until 9pm. Maybe we bought less this year.

9:00 over here just in case the older kids haven't had a chance yet.

It’s 8:50.

Time to scan your street to see if there are any stragglers.

If it’s all clear, you may pull the plug and call it a night.

9. We leave out whatever candy is left in a bowl in case there are any stragglers.

They were off at 7 - it’s so cold here! Getting into bed now.

This continues to be a senseless holiday to me. I know most parents don’t let their kid eat most of it, if any at all. Some kids are going to donate the candy, only eat a few pieces or throw it away. I’ll fight with my kids tonight and tomorrow over their stash…. That they’ll want yo eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. annoyed that kids feel entitled to do this each year. Like the year it rained or falls on a Sunday, we NEEDED to reschedule.

It’s tradition, I guess…. Spending $$ on costumes to walk around in the dark, and cold, $$$ on overpriced candy, running to the door every 10 min for 2 hours, feeling guilty about running out and turning off my lights,…. For what?! Nothing

Happy Halloween DCUM!
