Will my Jewish child be safe on a university campus next year?

If diversity means students support an end to an apartheid state then good for GMU!

Were they supporting terrorists?

Are all Palestinians terrorists?

"Supporting Palestine" says nothing about how they are addressing the safety of Jewish people on campus.

So the answer is no diversity? No differing points of view. GOt it.

I'm old enough to remember when we weren't allowed to talk about bOtH sIdEs. No nuance or discussion allowed.

Sure about that?

Hard to see how it's going to make your kid safer if the university "condemns terrorism".

The Nazis hold a silent vigil on the GWU campus at least once a year. They play a lot of word games but it is them.

Davidson has a wonderful Jewish Student Union with a very active roster of events. My DC is very comfortable as a Jew on campus.

GWU is over 27% Jewish so it should be considered.

There is a difference between protesting against the actions of Isreal and being anti-Semetic. Nonetheless, I understand that the concern is regarding protests in favor of the terrorist group Hamas.

If a Jewish student doesn't feel safe at GWU, then Tulane, Brandeis, LIU-Brooklyn,Sarah Lawrence, and Barnard College all have a higher percentage of Jewish students than does GWU.

At this time, people--on both sides of the issue--are reacting emotionally. Hopefully, all sides will realize that such reactions will not solve anything.

I have a freshman in college this year, and while it is scary and concerning, your child will be just as safe at college as anywhere else. I would though recommend having her go to a school with a sizable Jewish population. Even though my DC is not religious, he does appreciate, especially now, being at a school where he is one of many.

When I see "Palestine support demonstration", I read it as "terrorist sympathizers".

I sure hope none of those aspiring engineers are looking for jobs with security clearances. Supporting terrorist organizations is a red flag.
