Again they said VA has not released the data yet so we have to wait..sheesh folks got pissed when APS took months to give out SOL scores because they were waiting in the state data/chart and now folks are made because APS decided not to wait and release scores ASAP

It would be nice if we had them too.

I’m one of the posters upthread and I’m only irritated because my child’s teacher was irritated.

These reports are confusing because from my child’s report it looked like he missed a lot of questions but his teacher told him he scores in the 98th percentile.

Same here. Is your child in 3rd? Another post said something about 3rd grade being tested on what they are supposed to know at the end of the year, not the beginning.

How would they know? Do you mind sharing the scores?

For 3rd grade, I did confirm with my child's teacher during our conference today that this is what they are supposed to know by the end of the year. (Sounds like this may not be the case for upper grades, based on what other posters said).

We have a 5th grader. I asked about VGA results, and she looked it up on her computer during our meeting. She said she went to some state website that has all the test scores and data -- it took a while to load, but she scrolled down to find the scores and shared the percentile. Not sure if this is not widely accessible/available to all teachers, but it seemed to be legitimate.

That was for reading. Actually only missed one question. Math was 1755 and was told it was 97th percentile

She was probably looking at last year's cutoffs, which are a reasonable approximation.

Some people complain about EVERYTHING.

I wonder how un/likely the quadrants are to change.

The beginning of year test is different from last year so you can’t compare it to last years scores. Last year it was the current grades standards. This year it was the previous grades standards. And then the middle year test will be current standards so you won’t really compare the beginning this year to middle this year since they are testing different content. VDOE has not released this years percentiles yet. If your teacher was using last years percentile scores they won’t be accurate since again, it’s different content.
