Anyone Regret Getting A DC Flag Tattoo?

I doubt there's any state in the union that doesn't have a fair number of people with flag or outline tattoos. It helps if you've got an attractive flag/clear symbol. Other than DC, I've lived in NC, Chicago, and Rhode Island and encountered state/city flag tattoos in all three.

I’ve never seen or heard of a single person with a Virginia state flag tattoo. Not saying that it doesn’t happen, because there are all sorts of idiots out there, but just that if there are people with them it’s limited to a small fringe.

Because the Virginia flag and more than a dozen other state flags are boring AF. I am generally anti-tattoo but there are tons of people with Maryland flag tattoos because it’s awesome.

I recently moved to teh midwest and have been shocked at the number of people who have moved here from MD (ugh I did it b/c I didnt want to get divorced and spouse was relocating- shoulda just separated ) and have MD state flag tattoos even though it is obviously the best state flag so I guess ppl do?

Marylanders have a thing about the Maryland flag being the best state flag, but when DC becomes a state, the DC flag will be the second-best state flag. It's a good flag.

Virginia’s flag is terrible and would make an awful tattoo.

You’re making it up. I’ve lived in MD for 20+ years a never met or even seen a single person with a MD flag tattoo. If you said a Ravens tattoo, I’d believe you because those are super popular. But the MD flag? Naw. Everyone has gear with the flag on it but no one is that invested. I have however seen plenty of people randomly with DC flag tattoos on odd occasions when I’ve been out and about in DC.

There is a bit of path determinism at work where by the time someone has gotten a DC flag tattoo they have probably already made a lot of other bad life decisions. Confederate stars and bars tattoos are still popular, but not so much in DC.

Best Maryland themed tattoo I saw was a guy at an Orioles game.

He had a calf tattoo that was a blended mural of Ravens and Orioles logos, the Natty Boh mascot, and a Maryland crab except the interior of the crab was filled with the tartan of the MD state flag. He looked exactly like a waterman from the Eastern Shore. Was astounding.

DC is known to have an awesome flag. So does MD. I don't have a DC Flag tattoo, but I'm not mad at anyone who gets one. DC pride!
