Kat Von D renounces occult and gets baptized

It is a big change to go from a woman who called herself “Queen of Darkness” to a woman who publicly professes her love and commitment to God. But she also had a son and probably has has some major shifts in her worldview.

Becoming a parent affects many people to make changes in their life for the sake of their child.

Moving to a better home or school district, eating healthier, becoming more focused on family activities to accommodate your child is not “swinging” to an extreme.

Her life looked exhausting before, and she has stated in interviews her child comes first.

If someone with a small child (especially their first child) makes changes to accommodate their child and their family’s happiness, I think it is healthy and shows maturity.

Let me guess, if Kat was still living in LA and practicing witchcraft and occult magic, you would think she was stable? She was fine then…but the moment she became a Christian, it was a symptom of her mental illness?

I think she has shown that she is seeking happiness for herself and her child. LA is not a particularly healthy place to raise families.

She says she’s happy and her son is happy.

Thanks for letting us know you’ve never lived in LA, No, don’t lie now and say you have.

You sound provincial.

For the record, 2 of my children were born in Europe, the rest in Colorado. They love being able to say that they are “Native” in Colorado, since Colorado is being overwhelmed by people fleeing California. We have lived in 14 different states during their childhood.

You are correct- I haven’t raised any kids in LA. I was born and raised in NYC and Houston, TX, as we had homes in both states for my dad’s job.

Of all the places we lived, my kids agree that New Mexico is their favorite place- except it too is being overcrowded and overwhelmed by people and families leaving California.

I am sensing a pattern when I mention Colorado and New Mexico: people fleeing California.

maybe they are all “swinging” to a new life?

If you don’t care, ignore the thread.

It’s religious because it’s about a religious topic.

The moderator said in the website feedback forum that someone alerted on the previous, deleted thread that this topic should be in the entertainment forum. You are complaining again about this? If you don’t care about this woman and her choices, why are you reporting the thread and complaining about it?

Because you do care. You can’t stand that this woman renounced witchcraft and the occult, and accepted Jesus into her life and believes in God.

The same goes for the charming poster who keeps posting (in both threads) implications that Kat is mentally ill and is having swings in behavior and is “collecting” new things. This poster is not above falsely using mental health-something many people legit struggle with- to deflect that a celebrity has turned away from the occult and embraced religion.

‘Is the church trying to hail this as a victory over witchcraft’
So yes, that’s exactly what you’re saying 😂

No, nothing about a church. We are discussing Kat’s personal choices.

What church are you specifically speaking about?

People who are extreme do extreme things. This isn't surprising.

Or maybe they are simply leaving an expensive state they cannot afford to live in and moving to a lower COL state.

I grew up very close to the town she’s now in. I think picking this location is a little bit crazy - it’s very rural, although it’s a pretty area near the Ohio River. It’s not very close to shopping or an airport. Religion part doesn’t seem weird though.

No, as the pp who posted KVD’s previous public antisemitism, coupled with her antivax status, she’s not really doing anything but changing her jersey. She sucked before, she sucks now and she probably always had a strong right wing streak. I can’t find the name of the church, but a White adult getting a full adult dunk baptism? That’s a cult religion and it’s no better than whatever she was doing before.

+1 My drug addict aunt became a born again Christian as her replacement. Honestly it's more annoying to everyone else (no thank you on the tract pamphlets) but she'll probably live longer.

Something is wrong with you for be more annoyed with a Christian aunt than a drug addicted aunt.

You’d rather your aunt be addicted to drugs than give you some pamphlets you can throw away after she leaves?

Drug addiction is a hard road to a bad death.

I hope you don’t have much contact with her, she deserves more love and support from her family. You should be happy for her and thankful she has changed her life.

I think a therapy appointment or 5 would benefit you, you obviously don’t care about your aunt. You definitely are selfish and don’t value your aunt’s life.

DP. Try reading PP instead of writing in a whole lot of what she didn’t write.

so dp, what does “My drug addict aunt became a born again Christian as her replacement. Honestly it's more annoying to everyone else (no thank you on the tract pamphlets) but she'll probably live longer,” mean to you?

Tell us what pp really meant.
