I use primer (fingers), under eye concealer (fingers) and some sort of "foundation powder" (really it's just powder) that I apply with a brush. I don't care if I don't look like I'm 35.

I only wear foundation like once a month so its fun, not a chore.

Its good either way, just have enough SPF and if out for long then reapply over makeup and just do a little setting powder touch up.

You can "wet" your beauty blender or sponge into water, tinted moisturizer or setting spray to have an even texture.

Less is more when it comes to foundation and concealer, you can add more but subtracting is a hassle.

I'm not 50 yet, but after trying sponges and brushes on and off for years, I've settled on fingers as the best tool.

I apply a moisturizer with spf, which also functions like a primer, then apply foundation sparingly with a foundation brush. Takes one minute or less.

Application matters most, applicator and cost of foundation not so much. Some of the cheaper ones are as good as luxury brands.

If you like putting foundation not all over, definitely try the Jones road face pencil. I love the formulation, but I’m basically too lazy to deal with the pencil.

I use a damp beauty blender knockoff (real techniques or ELF).

I keep going back to Loreal True Match Lumi, and apply with fingers. Damp beauty blender is nice but absorbs it and find it hard to clean the sponge well.

For the other poster—moisturizer, spf then foundation (altho i sometimes use spf over foundation if I’m unexpectedly going to be in strong sun as I live at altitude.)

I can breath through my lungs and nose for few hours once every blue moon.

I use powder foundation. A light brush and done.
