Best chocolate in a box of chocolates?

OP here, wow i was not expecting all the coconut hate! More for me,
I suppose

Do you guys go with the chocolate map or do you have another method for selecting the right candy? Eg if you are a coconut hater what do you do if you get a coconut truffle?

Not to derail, but where (not Godiva) can I go buy myself a small box of candy that I'll like!? I have been known to buy a tiny Whitman's in a desperate November moment...but willing to try something fancier.

Best - dark chocolate with rich flavors (ganache, truffle, hazelnuts, other nuts, expresso, caramel)

Worst - Coconut and any ones with the fruit cremes

Best - all of them. I might have some I prefer, but I appreciate the merits of each one.

Best: Coconut (Sometimes you feel like a nut...)

Worst: The really hard one you almost break your jaw trying to bite into.

Fave: Toffee and chocolate-covered cherry.

Not fave: coconut, mint, nougat

My favorite candy in the world is the one with the strawberry-print wrapper and the gooey strawberry syrup inside, the one that our grandmothers always set out in a crystal dish on special occasions.

Anything with coconut or white chocolate is an abomination.

Agree with all of this. Give me your fruit creams and cordials. You can have the coconut and white chocolate.

For me….
Best is plain milk chocolate.
Worst: Anything with actual Cherries or soft/oosing

Worst - coconut and fruit creams (tie)

Best - turtle, choc covered cashews, ganache and pralines, salted caramels

Most polarizing??

I'd nominate coconut. Love it or hate it, hardly inbetween (I hate it)

The good news is that if DCUM shared a huge box of chocolates, each and every one of us would be happy.

With a map.

Because otherwise we'd have Steve touching and sniffing each one and Linda slicing each one into quarters and posting tiny toothpick signs of the flavors and me taking a bite and leaving what I don't like

Best - raspberry cream, orange cream, salted caramel, mint anything
Worst - chocolate covered almonds, nuts in general unless part of a caramel turtle, anything coated in white chocolate.

I think I am not ever going to eat fro the communal box of chocolates again, thank you for the vivid detail. Taking a bite and leaving the rest--are you an ESFJ, by any chance?

See's chocolate.

Fruit creams, fruit gels and white chocolate are all gross to me.

I like a coffee ganache or nice toffee.
