| I really like Pinto. She couldn't get all that she wanted, but she got what she knew would pass. My husband, who works in national security, thought it was a good first step. |
I'm curious if he takes his granddaughter to play at Forest Hills Park. If it's not safe enough for her to have shooters running across it, why is it ok for the neighborhood? |
True, but Goulet would have been so much worse. The guy has become completely unhinged on Twitter. I wouldn’t even vote for him as dog catcher now. |
The way the whole entrenched political class acted in that situation was striking. Why was he seen as such a threat? |
| Cheh said a lot of sensible things but then voted with the Council despite her words. |
Probably because he is, as the PP pointed out, completely unhinged. |
Huh?! His tweets are a voice of reason. None of this hugs for thugs crap |
Here is what it does: “the plan “builds on the substantial budget investments passed by the Committee and the successful passage of [her] emergency legislation to address crime earlier this year,” she said. And it covers “every aspect of our legal justice system by increasing accountability for violent crime and gun offenses, giving our public safety agencies the tools needed to address hiring and retention challenges, and [enhance] infrastructure to make our schools, recreational spaces, and commercial and transit corridors safer.” That’s clear, isn’t it? |

Pinto has turned out to be a much better Council member than the doofus she replaced.
-Ward 2 voter who didn't vote for her in the primary or general election |
A voice of reason? Like 80% of his Tweets are complaints about ATV riders, whining about imaginary socialists, and potshots at Charles Allen. It's behavior I would expect from my Fox News-addled uncle, not a person who ostensibly wants to be taken seriously as a politician. It's pathetic. I suppose one could read that as a voice of reason, if one lacks reason entirely. |

+1 not only that, he's wasting space in an important educational role so that he has a platform to tweet to his fan base about crime |
+1. He seems pretty sharp. And he brings the receipts. |
Just looked at the last 10 tweets of his: 1. Re-tweet talking about a Post article mentioning that we're at a record high for homicides. 2. Tweet encouraging people to take a DCBOE survey so they can see what residents value. 3. Re-tweet from the state superintendent about report cards. 4. Tweet about Charles Allen saying on Twitter in 2020 that he and the Council were shrinking the police force by defunding it. 5. Re-tweet of a board of education tweet about a new student representative. 6. Tweet congratulating said representative. 7. Re-tweet with a video about the swearing in of said representative. 8. Tweet correcting something Zachary Parker said about police funding. 9. Re-tweet of a Vince Gray tweet about how D.C. can function during a shutdown. 10. Re-tweet of a tweet by the Washington Teachers Union about how they need a new contract. It doesn't seem to be objectionable to me, unless you're one of those extremists activists who think there shouldn't be any discussion about the current spike in crime. |
Well expect it from the fed up Dem voters -- all of us complain about the same -- rats, ATVs, crime, potholes, dirt, trash. We want more police, cleaner streets, no ATVs, no noise, no theft, laundry detergent back in stores. You know, normal life we used to have before this self-loving Council. Unhinged is such a stupid word. But well describes your post. |
Agreed. Don't love the guy but seems like a beacon of hope against morons like Nadeau, Allen and even billionaire Pinto |
