We were introduced by a mutual friend who worked with me. She sneakily arranged for us to just "happen to meet" and didn't have to do much else! We've been married 5 1/2 years and are expecting our first child.

At the church where we eventually married and still attend.

I completely agree with this statement. I was just telling a woman at work that the other day when she said its "too late" for her (she's 58). My Mom has a friend who met her husband Online within a year of a divorce when she was over 50 and another friend who's Mom met her husband within a year of a divorce when she was over 40. Both are still happily married several years later.

I met my husband Online (JDate.com) when I was 22 and we have been together 6 years and have one child.

BTW, I also know about 10 other people who met Online. It's so not dorky anymore....when we first met it was weird to tell people and now 1/4 of the people we tell probably say "Oh! We met that way too!".

Oh, I should also add, that DH and I did our first three years of dating via Internet and phone. We actually didn't meet until after three years of communicating with each other. He was military, and stationed in six or seven different places, including overseas, during those years.

I met DH on match.com too but my friend actually set us up! She was doing online dating and found a profile that reminded her of me and read it to me over the phone. I loved it and joined for the trial two weeks just to meet him, and the rest is history!

I met my husband at work here in DC almost ten years ago. We were just friends for a few years, but then started hanging out after work a little bit, and then a lot, and finally kind of realized we were dating! We've been married for almost two years and just had a baby.

At a bar...but we worked there. He was the manager and I was a waitress. Although I may not recommend picking up boys in bars to our daughter, it worked out for us!

At a party. Bunch of guys all renting a house had a b-b-q. I was there with a friend that knew one of the guys from college. He was there with a friend that knew another guy from high school. We would never have met otherwise because he didn't frequent the same dance/salsa club scene I did and I doubt he would have done online dating at that time. My friend said "oh the party won't be that exciting, just a bunch of guys drinking beer". I went in with low expectations - and that is probably why I met the guy of my dreams. Though I am sure the lucky dress didn't hurt either. Been together 10 years - almost 6 married with 2 kids.
