Alexandra
I love the nickname ‘Alex’ for a girl. |
I agree with you on the nn issue, but that's why it's important to think about it now because I've known people who picked a longer name knowing in advance that they hated a certain nickname for it (like say they named her Alexandra but really hated the nickname Alex). Well good luck with that. You need to be comfortable with the fact that your kid or their peers or other family members might shorten that longer name and be okay with the possible nicknames. If "Alex" absolutely grates, don't name your kid Alexandra even if your intention is to never call her anything but her full name. |
Same. It is not hard to say. |
+1 and Allie too |
| Abigail |
| Ava or Anna. Easy to say and easy to learn to spell and write! |
| DD's middle name is Alexandra and I wanted it for her first name. Not too common, but familiar enough to be easy to pronounce and spell. Great if she prefers a nickname but nice to have a formal name as an adult. |
| I think Alexandra is the play here. Congratulations on your pregnancy and best of luck! |

I love Alexandra the best of the 3 you suggested. But Ada is my favorite suggested here.
I also like Adeline. |
|
Aurora nn Rory is cute.
I also like Adaline Audrey Alyssa Adelle Anastasia Adrianna Arielle Agnes |
| These names have all been popular recently. What about Allison? |
| Aviva |
| Angelique |
| There are not enough Aurora's in the world. Though I think you should honor yourself through your baby - you're the one doing the majority of the work. |
| Arrow (dog from the Harry Nilsson song) |
