Other A names Audrey, Alice[/quote] I agree with you on the nn issue, but that's why it's important to think about it now because I've known people who picked a longer name knowing in advance that they hated a certain nickname for it (like say they named her Alexandra but really hated the nickname Alex). Well good luck with that. You need to be comfortable with the fact that your kid or their peers or other family members might shorten that longer name and be okay with the possible nicknames. If "Alex" absolutely grates, don't name your kid Alexandra even if your intention is to never call her anything but her full name.[/quote]
