Menopause doctor in DC/MD

OP-thanks for the suggestions. And to select posters, please don’t shame people for asking about this and no this is not part of some conspiracy. Of course it’s not a disease but there are ways to manage symptoms. I saw the prior thread but a) I don’t live in VA and b) it devolved into a discussion of one doctor.

This place at least states on their website that 'Not every woman should take hormone replacement therapy (HRT), or wants to' so they don't seem predatory like some other places referenced in these many threads.

It’s almost like women aren’t well-informed about peri-menopause and need to reach out to the community when weird stuff starts happening because their own doctors don’t have current research on it.

Every day even! Thank goodness it's the same question and answer every time!

I am thankful people are giving recommendations for docs in the areas requested. It’s helpful.

You can simply not open the thread if you don’t know a gynecologist in x or y or z area and will clearly be triggered by it. There are so many other threads you can click on in this sub-forum.

It's almost as if...someone has a reason to post the same question and answers over and over.

Or the major readership of DCUM is hitting menopause. Or posters rarely use the search function for health recommendations.

try Dr. Lord at Nava Vitality Clinic if you are interested in biodentical hormones. It helped me tremendously. My symptoms were severe hot flashes, mood swings and weight gain

Why would you even come here to say something like that to her? Are you ok?

I went into early menopause in my 20s due to a condition called POF. you clearly have not yet experienced anything like this but if you have a vagina your time will come to eat your words.

We’re at higher risk for heart issues, our skin thins because we no longer produce estrogen which is protective for your heart, brain (you may struggle w forgetfulness and brain fog), bones (osteoporosis increases because osteoclasts are no longer inhibited). Blood vessels weaken. Your night sweats and hit flashes may make you feel miserable like mine did before i was put on hormone replacement therapy. My pelvic floor muscled prolapsed, hair falls out, sex hurts, vagina is dry and you leak pee. Girl you better pray and have empathy next time someone says their in menopause. You’d never know im dealing w this bc im an active person, im 34 now but look you eveb younger, and im in the military (i also have a background in medicine so had to come in here and say something bc that was outrageous). It f’ing sucks and you do need a specialist in many cases to properly manage your hormone replacement therapy.

As for specialist, Hopkins has Dr. Shen but she booked out until next summer. Tysons has a menopause clinic im looking into.

spoken like a man or a 22 year old woman.

It is a normal occurrence that every single female will transition through. It isn’t a pathological disease process.

And yet that "transition" can be debilitating. Between your ignorance and your inclination to invalidate others, you are being ugly and should probably get some help for that.
