I hate the new Weight Watchers points system

Many weight inducing foods are marketed as healthy bc they’re organic or don’t contain preservatives or other silly claims.

WW works—ask your doctor. You may not like it, but either get with the program or keep doing your own thing and keep getting the same results.

You’re apparent not losing weight with your current diet. But you want a program that will let you loose weight without changing your diet? That’s not how this works.

WW changes its program every 2 or 3 years. Are we supposed to believe that only the current one is any good, and all the old ones weren't even though people lost weight on them at the time?

So don't do it. You can most certainly lose weight eating nothing by donuts but you'll be malnourished and unhealthy. They update it occasionally based on the latest science. You really don't think it's better to eat mostly veggies and lean protein than carbs? You can still have your grains just not as much as you want.

I'm about a month and a half in and I'm struggling. Like others, I had great success on the old plan years ago but this plan seems to be better for people who have more weight to lose. I lost about 3 lbs pretty quickly but for the past month I've only lost about .5 lbs. I count correctly, eat many of the same foods every day to avoid mistakes, never eat all my points because like others, I'm skeptical that fruit is really "free," and never eat any of my activity points. It's super frustrating. I feel like the old plan was better. And OP, I'm right there with you - I miss cereal! Even if I shouldn't eat it every day - a simple bowl of shredded wheat with milk is nearly half my points for the day! Sad.

How much do you weigh and how many points do you get?

I lost and easily maintained on an older version of WW. These recent high protein versions do not work for me at all. I feel hungry and deprived. I have gained weight back because I cannot stick to the new program. I’m trying to use Loseit even though I was free WW with lifetime membership.

You don’t have to eat high protein on WW. Tons of vegetables, popcorn, Greek yogurt etc are all zero points. And then you get points and if you eat healthy portions you should be able to have grains with no problem at all. Also, potatoes and sweet potatoes are low in points. This isn’t a low carb diet. It does nudge you to make certain choices though.

Lose It app is free, and you enter what you weigh, what you want to weigh by what date, and it tells you how many calories to eat each day for breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner YOU decide if it's carbs or protein. I got from 160 to 130 in 8 months!

I won't say they don't have in person meetings anymore, because it isn't true, they do. But since the pandemic, the focus has been on virtual meetings and I doubt that there will be any in person meetings left anymore at all within a couple of years. It's to bad, actually going somewhere and stepping on a scale and weighing in was the thing about WW that worked best for me.

What did you eat and did you also exercise?

OP, do you need more whole grains or do you need more fiber? Non starchy vegetables have a lot of fiber

Anyone remember the old version:
5 servings fruits and veggies, 5 servings healthy grains, 3 servings dairy, 3 servings protein and 2 servings fats?

Or older, make your own ketchup?

I eat a lot of hard-boiled eggs for breakfast, lots of fruit and veggies, chicken, fish, some whole grain pasta and brown rice but those in moderation.

Just now I had a whole sweet potato, chicken breast and cup of steamed broccoli for lunch. Very filling.

I did walk about 3 miles about 3-4 time a week but that is it. I'm 44 if that makes a difference.

Are you exercising at all? Even walking helps.

I enjoyed the social aspect of in-person. Enjoyed trying out other locations. Going during a weekday, many were retired, middle-aged or older. Lots of friendship opportunities.
