The trainwreck Depp/Heard trial

This sounds like an AI response to write a hateful message about Depp and include Trump in it!

I watched the trial and think Heard is the more awful person. I think the jury got it right for a defamation--which is what the case was about.

Eh, I wouldn't go that far. Amber Heard is an abuser. She was just up against another abuser who had more money. Frankly, considering she went after a guy in a relationship, this is karma.

I know someone who works in the entertainment industry and knew her before Depp. She didn't run with a wholesome crowd, and she cheated and led others to cheat WITH her. Constantly said that since she was hot, she could get people to do things for her.

People like that need a slap in the face.

+1 And the BS about her daring to be an imperfect victim who didn't just take it but fought back, and at times gave as good as she got. Nothing about that obviates the fact that he did abuse her.

The London verdict got it right. She had sh*tty lawyers, should have won this case too.

I liked the language, and agree with it--that the claims of abuse were "substantially true."

I will watch it!

Did they talk about the troll army on social media? There was something extremely shady about that.

Someone didn’t listen to the tapes!

This was two obnoxious, arrogant, angry and self cantered people but she was far more calculated and abusive. Neither was a complete victim given their dynamic.

They both did a lot of drugs and he drank a lot and intoxication added to two angry people fighting was not going to end well. He did try to escalate and she would just keep going.

In the end the trial seems to have given them both some form of closer that nothing else did. They both finally moved on and have both mostly stopped talking about it. Too bad Netflix is showing it again. Let them and it all fade into oblivion.

Yes, this!

Watched it (more like skimmed it - so much repetitive, nonsensical BS and footage I've already seen). This is incredibly lazy filming. Who the f*** thought this type of docu-series is a good idea? For anyone on the fence, I'll save you some time.

- There's nothing new here that you didn't already see before, during and after the trial. It's like the documentary makers did a cut-and-paste job from the Internet, mashed it up together to create a "documentary", and then presented it to us with nothing new to offer.

- It's only been a year. For something that is fresh in the public memory, I consider this bad timing and a blatant cash grab.

- I'm not sure what they are trying to say. If they are sympathetic to Heard, why are the blatantly profiting off of what she publicly went through, replaying footage from the trial? (I am not an Amber Heard supporter - but if I was, then I wouldn't make this type of series.)

- There are YouTube harassment clips, appearing to support Heard, but then also shows Heard's abusive audio recordings, and doesn't offer any deeper explanations or commentary. For a limit of 3 episodes, maybe they could've spent that time focusing on material we HAVEN'T seen, including offering deeper context and new/unreleased information.

I found better articles AND more insightful bloggers and YouTube commentators when I was trying to understand this trial last year. This was such an obvious, money-making hack job.

I thought it was poorly done. Just all the social media people talking with their updates on the case. It was not cohesive at all. I stopped watching after the second episode. Not a fan of Amber Heard but the constant trashing of her was too much and Johnny Depp is no angel enough with the adulation of him.

Looks like Hollywood writers-strike fodder

Pieced together garbage from who know what clips

This is what we have to look forward to if they don’t come to terms over their differences.

I'm confused as to why people loathe Heard. Explain? I didn't really follow the trial, but most abusers are widely condemned yet he seems to be let off the hook...why?

I never watched or followed the original trial, so I did watch this. They are two messed up people. Do they each deserve an Oscar for their trial performances? Someone was lying. She obviously was recording him all.the.time for a reason: documenting or entrapping him. Who knows, who cares? Thank God they didn't procreate.

There is no letting him off the hook other than by his fans I guess. But if you listened to the tapes, Heard was a calculated, manipulative abuser and she lied and gave a very dramatic performance on the stand. He lied less, was less dramatic, and was more of an angry reactive drunk than a calculating abusive manipulator. So nothing wrong with widely condemning her. I personally wouldn't waste breath defending either of them - they both acted horribly and lack character.

I only watched two of the three episodes and the whole thing was a mess. I would empathize and believe Amber Heard and then they would play some tape and she sounded just as crazy.

The one part I didn’t really understand was her alleging her sexually assaulted her with an object. Was there no police investigation or anything? I just couldn’t follow this part being mentioned but not proven or disproven.
