Its not the color, it’s that it just doesn’t look dressy enough for “black tie optional.” You would most likely feel very underdressed for this level of formality.

It’s not cotton, it’s a linen blend. I think that’s too daytime.
But if you wear some jewelry and you’re thin, it’s probably fine. |
| It looks too casual and dowdy for evening. I wouldn't wear it. It looks like a dress for the beach, picnic, farmer's market. |
| Desssssparadooooo… |
| Totally inappropriate for a wedding. It screams "I'm available" not friend of the bride or groom |
| The fabric is too casual. |
| I like the dress but it looks too casual for a black tie optional wedding. I wouldn’t wear it for the reason only. |
| No. Too casual for a black tie. But pretty inappropriate. |

No. I love Farm Rio, and this is better

Are you posting from a senior citizen nunnery? The dress is edgy and too casual but not very sexy or revealing. |
Not OP, but I love this dress! |
Yes, this is much better and way cuter. Looks more dressy than the other one, too. |

If you want to show skin on your torso, what about this one:

| I think it’s the knots on OP’s dress that make it look too casual. |
Oh this is perfect |
