I just flew back from Italy on Monday, and there were absolutely people masked both in the airport and on my flight. Certainly a minority, but definitely not “no one”. OP, I’d mask out of courtesy and enjoy the trip. |

From another thread yesterday: You can call all of this overstated or click-baity, but there has been a substantive percentage increase in cases/hospitalizations recently, and the media has picked up on it. Granted it's starting from a very low base, so percentage increases are gonna be higher. We have seen a slight uptick at my hospital. A couple weeks ago we had 0-1 cases. Last night we had 6. Same pattern as always, those hospitalized have multiple co morbidities. 1 of the 6 was hospitalized for a routine surgery but was coughing and complaining of fatigue so was tested and was positive. But her Covid is very mild, she's just in the hospital to have a joint replaced. None of the 6 are anywhere near as sick as we used to see. I hate the term surge but there is definitely an uptick. It seems we have one every few months. |

I used to be VERY Covid conscious. At some point, I threw up my hands in defeat and stopped worrying so much.
We’ve lived with germs our entire lives. I’m back to just accepting that as a risk when I leave my home. OP, enjoy your trip. I hope you feel better soon. I agree with others who say wearing a mask is a nice gesture, but I absolutely don’t think you need to stay home for cold symptoms. |
