This isn't about spending. It's about stability and governance. Almost going over the cliff on the debt limit, failing to pass a budget for years at a time, etc., etc. is the issue. |
You didn't even read what Fitch said. Half of it is because of brinkmanship, the other half of the overwhelming debt that's growing and crushing the country. But yeah, keep on proposing to hand out more free stuff. |
Like unfunded tax cuts for the 1% that have exploded the debt and deficit spending? |
I think we all know the GOP threat to default led to this downgrade. Plus all the tax cuts for the very rich that Trump and the GOP pushed through. |
|
The Republicans do not like government, don’t want it to work well, and want to burn down the country. They DGAF about anything, except guns and Trump. |
? You're confusing the annual budget deficit with the national debt |
|
Bidenomics.
Spend money you don't have, promise people things you can't provide, flood the country with cheap, unskilled labor, then sit back as things implode. |
Like Biden spending an unnecessary $1T+ in stimulus spending and handing out unnecessary stimulus checks 2 months into office that exacerbated inflation. |
We could easily increase taxes on capital gains, remove the cap on social security and slightly increase income taxes overall, and reduce our military budget to something sane and we'd never have a funding problem again. |
The economy looks pretty good. I trust Democrats with the economy. I can trust the Republicans to play will they won’t they purely for the brinksmanship. |
A record $7.8 trillion in new debt under Trump. Trumpanomics. He specializes in debt and bankruptcies. |
Dream on, baby. The government is addicted to spending. They will always spend more than they have. Then, they will just continue to increase taxes little by little. |
You're only 1/3rd right. Cut spending on social security and Medicare/Medicaid too. Those eat up over half of all tax revenue right off the top. Of course for Democrats, it's almost always a tax problem, it's never a spending problem, except for military. Cuts across the board please. Nothing is safe, including SNAP benefits, housing programs, education, food stamps, and all other social programs. You can't tax your way out of spending addictions. |
Except what you write is not what Fitch cited as the reason for the downgrade. Keep up, please. |
