Awesome thread! A couple years ago for Halloween I ordered old time candies from Amazon, and they were a HUGE hit with the parents in the neighborhood.
My favorites were Fun Dip, black licorice like OP, and peanut butter Twix. |
This was the candy, in case you are interested! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DN6XHL8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 |
| Another NECCO fan here. I actually had a roll 2 weeks ago. I was heartbroken when the company folded but the new ones seem to be just like the original so all is good in the world again. |
Love it! š |

| We're a fan of bullseyes / caramel creams. Stocked by Stop and Shop so maybe not too old-time, but feels like a throw back! |
| My son loves salt water taffy but there's something different about how I remember it. Is it different now? I feel like I miss salt water taffy even though I have some in my kitchen right now. |
I remember those! Also the colored sugar dots on sheets of paper. Chick-o-stix. Cinn-o-mon Lifesavers, which were white. Whatchamacalits. |
| What were those foamy orange peanut shaped candies? They we maybe an inch or two long? Not individually packaged. My dad was into them. |
| My friend introduced me to Werther's original. Then her husband was making fun of us because apparently it's an "old lady candy". Still great IMO. |

Went down a bit of a rabbit hole and found this (and other similar sites) with boxes of candies from different decades.

| I know and hate all of these candies LOL. I must have been an odd kid. |
Maybe you were a stale gum in the baseball card pack, kinda kid. |
