What to do for fun when it is SO damn hot??

Water park! Find one with slides and a lazy river and you are set.

Have others found ways to still enjoy the summer?

Nothing besides the extreme heat, 90% humidity, bad allergies, horrible unhealthy air quality due to the fire smoke and torrential rains and thunderstorms going outside is nearly impossible these days.

May and June were lovely and dry and great except for a few bad smoke days. We did a lot of outdoor stuff then so feel ok vegging now in the heat of summer. We also have a shady yard and do some major mosquito control (natural, no sprays)

Splash parks, pool (even the indoor pools). We go to museums as soon as they open, or early morning hikes.

In the afternoon we will veg at home or go to a movie or a museum.

Any you'd recommend? Sounds fun!

PP reminded me of tubing, which can be really fun. But not when thunder storms threaten.

That’s the right kind of heat.

We play tons of board games, card games, puzzles, baking etc. The same stuff we do on bitterly cold winter days.

Our parents have a large and comfortable second home with a backyard pool. They’re great with our kids. Summer heat is not a problem for us.

As a family though (just to give you a more helpful response) our summer has been punctuated by theater shows. Kids are both into theatre so we have shows to look forward to and remember fondly FWIW.

Where the heck do you live? In the DC area it hasn’t been that hot. The real buzkill this summer has been all the rain.

I HATE MOSQUITOES AND HUMID HEAT.
