Ugh I didn’t realize that Jawando had actually declared.

The article said Jawando is a candidate.

It’s going to be Alsobrooks vs. Trone with Alsobrooks coming out on top. Jawando needs to read the room. It’s not his time.

I’m rooting for this outcome.

Lol no, money always wins statewide. Look at Wes Moore.

What's your point? Alsobrooks can't fundraise? Trone wins because he's wealthier?

Wes Moore is governor in large part because of Alsobrooks, whose endorsement was critical in delivering Black votes from PG County.

Alsobrooks is light years ahead of either of them. Trone might be a strong contender because he has held federal office, and has a lot of money to finance his campaign. But Alsobrooks is by far the frontrunner.

+1

Trone is really annoying to listen to. Alsobrooks is going to blow him out of the water if there are any primary debates. Jawando has an outsized opinion of himself. No way he's ready for prime time outside of MoCo. He should wait until Van Hollen decides to retire.

Wes Moore is governor because he had the backing of NY and LA billionaires (Paul Tudor Jones & Oprah respectively).

Alsobrooks has no one that can match Trone's money, and Jawando did her no favors by taking away Black votes from her.

So, who do you think the nominee will be?

I doubt Jawando thinks he can win. This is a publicity campaign for him.

There are 10x black people than Jewish people in Maryland so it’s wild that there’s never been a black Maryland senator.

Md is blue and one of the blackest states in the country.

How is that even possible!?!?!?!?

Ugh. I bet Alsobrooks is missed at Jawando for running. I don’t think he has a snowballs chance but he will pull some votes from her.

I really don’t know why he’s running. Honestly, he tried to brand himself as a baby Obama, but it’s not working out. Alsobrooks has a proven track record.

I used to like Jawando before it became clear that he was more concerned with his own career than local politics.
