And just keep saying no thanks.

But it’s also worth bearing in mind that when we enter the waters of a Jacuzzi whatever we have on our skin we deposit into the warm water swirling around us. This includes the 100mg or so of feces that is usually present between our buttock cheeks. This means that while you’re relaxing in the hot tub’s warm water, you’ll likely breathe in or swallow your Jacuzzi partner’s body’s bacteria, viruses and fungi.

If you swallow the hot tub water you are doing it wrong.

If you’re over the age of 2 you shouldn’t be swallowing hot tub water.

This^ and she doesn't know that you two are trying to conceive and hot tub isn't good for that. Cut her some slack and either share this information or find a good excuse.

Your DH can handle his mom.

However, DH and I are currently TTC, and we’ve read studies that show that going in a hot tub can decrease your sperm count for up to three months, so DH doesn’t want to go in the hot tub. However, MIL keeps pressuring him to go in, despite him saying no over and over. This is weird, right?

Is she always like this? My MIL only started doing this when she was in her 80s.

Who wants to use a hot tub in summer? I’d only go in one after a day of skiing.

Honestly, it really doesn't matter. Unless you DH has a low speem count, if you can't conceive it's pretty much 100% an issue with you. Another wonderful benefit of being a woman.

They both could be "sub fertile", as my obgyn put it, so I am team OP with being cautious while TTC.

It's fun at night after a swim in the pool or ocean.

MIL had a "vision" of how the trip would be and how much DH would enjoy the hot tub. Reality doesn't match and it's upsetting. Happens to my mom all the time.

DH should put his feet in to be sociable. Up to him what he shares about not getting all the way in. It would probably help her feelings if you got in and if you both complimented the choice of rental.

Again, men have millions of sperm unless they have a diagnosed issue so 10 million vs 7 million it isn't an issue with him.

Coming back to say there is a difference between something that negatively impacts sperm count and something that negatively impacts fertility. You can affect the sperm count with no impact on fertility.

It doesn’t matter. The MIL has no business pushing.

OP here, yes she’s always been like this…she’s like a bulldog and won’t accept no for an answer on anything

Disagree. A quick google search shows that this is a real thing
