I’m running inside today. I was at Hains point yesterday afternoon and it wasn’t bad. Today is significantly worse. |
No way perfect excuse to be a hermit tiday |
At my son's soccer practice last night. 5:00 fine, by 6:00 the air was noticeably hazier and all the perfectly healthy kids started coughing, sneezing, wheezine. It was literally like a flipped switch. |
Yesterday seemed fine to me, yet overnight started to get a touch of a headache which seems to have lasted. Should’ve gotten out of bed to close the one remaining open window. All shut now w HEPA on for the day.
How many days does this last?? |
This morning I saw several joggers (the cyclists were probably on their way to work). It's NOT smart to exert yourself in a Code Red situation. It means you will inhale significantly more particles, which can cause breathing issues right away, but also reduce your longevity if you expose yourself too often. Wildfire particulate matter creates inflammation, decreased lung and heart function and is carcinogenic. Air pollution is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. |
I’m out on Calvert County and it smells like smoke outside. |
I’ve trained for marathons in China. This is nothing |
Cool story, bro. |
And it left you unable to construct a sentence correctly? |
I ran today and really struggled with breathing! |
Not sure about Rochester but in Syracuse the sky looks yellow...really bad right now. |
Damn |
It's usually code red a lot of the summer when it's humid and above 90. |
Capital weather gang mentioned airnow.gov as a resource. Rochester shows as "very unhealthy" (looks like one step beyond code red, which is "unhealthy"). |
And yet we survived. How did we make it this far? |
