It felt super low energy the second half. I thought I was crazy until I looked at reddit and Twitter.

Glad y'all had a nice mother's day show

To clarify - I'd never complain about a long merch long. I do hate the fact that each night doesn't have designated merch. Between the public sale on Thursday and nights 1 and 2 there was literally no tour exclusive merch left even at early vip merch booths.

There’s no excuse for that. Especially given how much money is made off of the merch compared to what it costs to make it.

You must be one of the people who also thinks that Beyonce magically drops an album overnight. There is so much planning that goes into these tours and Taylor's marketing department is about 10 steps ahead of you. She does limited tour. Pent up demand and then floods the market after the tour. I mean if you look at Bruce Springsteen's 2023 tour he starts before her, ends after her and goes international. Her team knows exactly what they are doing.

Historically her merch team (across labels) does not know what they are doing lol. Her merch is weak

I had assumed they had a "batch" of merch in all sizes for each night. I stood in line during the concert N2 for my kids and it was already slim pickings. I guess the fans that went on the pre-sale day were smart! Does anyone know if they will restock the online merch sizes or if that's it? My DD wants a cream hoodie but all the smaller sizes are gone even online.

Yes merch lines were long, but everybody knew that you had to get their hours before. She did plenty of talking to the audience, and it was personalized as it was Mother’s Day.

+1 yes, we were night 2 in Philadelphia and it was beyond words

+3 for amazing Mother’s Day show!

She has been on two labels. One tiny and now Universal which is the largest. This is all part of the plan. Everyone will want another round of merch at the holidays. You (and/or your kid) included.

You proved my point ding dong. There’s so much planning that goes into it that running out of merch shouldn’t ever happen.

Unless you think Taylor is a liar and really doesn’t care about her fans?

Why tf do you all even want “merch”?!

Quick search to Etsy or Amazon pulls up the exact shirts. Just sayin.

This all sounds like a colossal waste of money and time to me. I just don't get it. My daughter loves TS, but there's no way in hell I'd pay $500+ for tickets and doubly no way in hell I'd stand 4 hours in line for "merch." Wth.

I dont' know about this concert specifically, but for other acts I'v worked with, they send one set of merch trucks per city, not per night.

What I'm not sure about is if they have 2 sets of stage equipment. It looks like it's 3-5 days between cities. Given setup and breakdown times, they may run 2 sets and if so, it would be 2 sets of merch trucks also I'm guessing.

PP. Let me guess, you actually believe that Taylor is a "mastermind" ?

Yah, maybe she’s reached the point where she’s tired and hitting a wall. That would be understandable! Philly was incredible.

Honestly though, it was about more than her. The crowd was INVESTED. I think everybody felt lucky to be there, and you could feel it. There was a collective feeling of earnest enthusiasm and fangirling. Maybe NY/NJ fans are less willing to geek out or more entitled?

Anonymous wrote:We went to the first night in Nashville. Nothing beats that. But like others have said you really need to know the merch situation before going in -- don't be first or last and 4 hr wait is common.

NJ got some great songs and it is getting great reviews. We had friends at every night and they are still buzzing about it. But if you go in thinking that Taylor is doing the same type of tour as before... I mean I don't know what to say. I have been lucky enough to see her at small venues and shows since 2006. Yes she has evolved and each tour has been an evolution. She is so much more mature and Eras reflects that. She gives her fans everything at these shows. What more could you ask for?

It is quite different from earlier tours. You can tell she feels more eyes on her. I, honestly, like to see a perfectly-oiled machine run. I’ve been behind enough curtains to know that hitting every cue, keeping everything on time, requires a ton of human effort. It might feel like a machine, but it can only be done through very, very human work. I respect that and I appreciate it. But not everybody sees it that way, I know. I’m sorry you didn’t have the experience you wanted.
