Last minute summer European vacation?

I love these incredibly vague posts which give basically no information to help people respond.

What do you like to do? What do your kids like to do? How much time will you have? Are there countries or regions you have always wanted to visit? It really depends on these types of things.

Dont bother. I'm in Europe and it's already super crowded and just sucks. I'm over it.

We just booked flights for 3 in economy on Aer Lingus to Zurich in late July/early August for $3K all in. Not basic economy, but the kind of economy where we get bags and choose seats (middle of the plane). One stop in Dublin for about 2 hours each way, and Dublin has the special thing where you do US immigration/customs there, so we are super happy with not having to do immigration after a transatlantic flight. There are deals to be bad. Definitely explore Google Flights for good options.

Yeah, don’t bother with a whole continent because someone from DCUM is somewhere in it and thinks it “sucks”.

Are people not allowed to say their opinions on here?

Yes, they are. And people are also allowed to express their opinion of the original opinion by dismissing it.

It's May. I kind of doubt it's "super crowded" compared to the Summer. I bet NYC is super crowded right now too. But that's my opinion from Northern VA.

Where in Europe? Context matters. As other posters have mentioned, some parts of Europe are less crowded than others.

Oh wow, doubting from your armchair in Nova, why am I not surprised? Keep dreaming and imagining of life in Europe in late May, you clearly have no idea. What a rube

Georgia!

I love love love the country of Georgia

It’s cheap. It’s friendly. It’s fun. Great food, beautiful mountains, amazing wineries, and beaches on the Black Sea. It’s also the ideal country for “last minute” type people because culturally Georgians are very spontaneous and not planners.

Be like the last guy, find a reasonably priced airfare and plan your trip around it:

Once you figure out airfare, give us dates!! Lots of ideas here.

For example, I would suggest you go to places in July where a lot of European’s may vacation in August.

- Renting a villa along, the Tuscan coast would be good and centrally located.
- or try Begur in Spain; drive to Andorra; then France (fly out of Montpelier)
- SW French coast through Provence (villa st Ange in Aix has avail; or château les Merles in Dordogne or La Signoria's Family Suites/Villas in Corsica)

- no to Greece/Sicily/Amalfi/puglia etc.

If you are not wed to staying in only one place, you will have a lot more options. And also suggest flying into one city & out of the other.

We are all travel arm chair quarterbacks, and probably would love the opportunity to find you lodging for your family of five if you give us an idea of locations! And the types of accommodations, you typically travel in.

Btw

No because travel agents know there no Tuscan villas left to rent in late May
