Alone for a week - what do you eat?

Anonymous
Weeks like these are when I treat myself and go out to restaurants! Especially those I usually can't go to because of the picky eaters in my family.

I'd get pho one night because the rest of my family aren't fans.

At least one grazing type dinner - crackers, cheese, fruit, sliced deli meat, celery sticks.

Big salad from the grocery store salad bar, with a grilled chicken breast.

Then maybe I'd have a calorie splurge on Chinese takeout one night.

Then back to healthy - a salmon filet cooked on the grill or air fryer, and a spinach salad with goat cheese and balsamic vinegar.

All the things I love to eat that my family does not.

Salmon sandwiches, and all sandwiches in general (why do they hate sandwiches?).
Cereal, particularly porridge.
Vegetable stew.
Artichokes.
Really nice olives and cheeses.

And a whole lot of TV shows!

Maybe treat self to breakfast daily because it’s cheaper and usually pretty good?

And a couple lunches out at a cafe for healthy options but for all other times I’d cook at home. Easy to do:

Make big pot of kale/bean soup to eat over next 2-3 days. Get good bread and butter, good crackers, fruit, cheese… basically mezze dinner with soup and wine. And maybe sushi one night as a treat.

Lots of humus.

Hummus. Omg. Not dirt.

Crudite and hummus
Banana/apple and peanut butter
Hard boiled eggs
Tuna salad

Literally this and also, cereal and coffee ice cream. And rosé cider.

I'm alone for the weekend and I'm having the 10 oz steaks both nights that I had gotten for our dinner prior to DW and DD departure. And leftover sides that I had made end of last week that were not 2fully consumed. But I did get so G-d da$ned donuts for breakfast to go with my fruit. It's turned into a dietary disaster over here.

Take out! If I don’t have to cook for the family, I’m not cooking!

+1 I’d be going out every night.

roasted Brussels sprouts with lots of balsamic and hot honey and lemon

mashed potatoes, sautéed cabbage, beets (polish grandmother meal throwback)

order sushi (usually a few times)

rice with kimchi and egg and green onions and chili crisp

big salads - make my own or get sweetgreen

Ha I’m the opposite. I often pick up or we eat out when I have family to deal with. On my own it’s so pleasant to cook a small amount and eat what I want, quietly.

I would have Indian takeout (they hate) and cheese and crackers only

I've always lived alone as an adult and am a fan of scrambled eggs, half a toasted bagel and fruit for dinner. Also a fan of salads for dinner.
