Alone for a week - what do you eat?

Anonymous
I normally cook all my families’ meals and am really into cooking everything from scratch, finding new recipes, blah blah blah… but I’ll be solo for a week next month and already thinking of the freedom from cooking. What do you eat when you’re alone but you still want to be reasonably healthy and eat real meals? I need ideas.

Eggs and toast
Tomato soup and grilled cheese
Creative salads
Sardines and crackers
Crudite and hummus
Banana/apple and peanut butter
Hard boiled eggs
Tuna salad

Happy for you OP! Being responsible for feeding only myself for a week sounds dreamy. Hope you enjoy it!

I’ll make a big pot of hearty soup with whatever I have on hand and eat with fresh bread for days on end. Or a big salad every day.

I like a really packed salad with a protein -- steak, chicken, salmon, shrimp plus lots of chopped veggies (prepped one day and stored in separate containers like a salad bar for the next few days) plus craisins, nuts, goat cheese and a yummy homemade dressing. Easy, filling, healthy, delish.

Popcorn
Cereal
Tuna salad sandwich
Indian, Thai and/or Vietnamese takeout
Salad with fried egg, dried cranberries, balsamic dressing and maybe some nuts and goat cheese
Or just skip the salad and have the goat cheese with baguette and Netflix

Oh man that sounds like a dream! This won't be helpful but I would do cereal, eggs, greek yogurt, chickpea pasta, tuna out of a can, some ground chicken patties, and Thai takeout.

I grocery shop and buy 2 pieces of fresh salmon, 1/2 lb no salt added turkey breast, tomato, avocado, a loaf of White Done Right Dave’s Killer Bread, a few bags of frozen steamable veggies, a bag of chopped Kale salad, cereal (corn flakes), bananas, strawberries, Smuckers Uncrustables PB&J (frozen), a large container of Blue Bell Dutch Chocolate Ice Cream

I have the salmon (w sides) the first 2 nights. I have plenty of combinations for the rest of the week.

A lot of sandwiches and salads and Thai/indian takeout!

A week with no one else to cook for sounds wonderful! I love my DH but I like it when he goes on a business trip for a few days so I don't have to cook a late dinner!

These are all fabulous ideas! Getting excited!

I’m a grazer. My favorite “meal” alone is a small charcuterie plate of whatever I have on hand

Nuts
Cheese
Pears
Grapes
Pepperoni or salami
Bread and herbed olive oil
Glass of wine

Murder shows - Dateline, 20/20, Netflix documentaries on tv

Fruit and cereal
Sandwiches, chicken or canned chicken for ck salad
Salad, avocados, baked chicken breast, vegetables, mac and cheese, baked potatoes...
