mothers day brunch sucks nothing available wtf?

You need to reserve several weeks out to get your choice of place and time.

You need to think of this in early March, friend.

Cook or go another day.

Going out to restaurants on Hallmark holidays is for amateurs.

We are going to lone star brewery in Olney to let our kids run around on the playground so we can actually try to enjoy it. As of Friday they still had seating reservations.

DH and I, make the brunch together for Mother's and Father's Day. We do a family gathering.

You're better off this way, I hate going to restaurants for amateur nights/brunches. The servers are always miserable and the food is never as good.

Yes, we are miserable because brunches are usually such a sh_tshow. They are nightmares and have been in every place I've worked.
People complain about everything and want 10 cups of coffee. Anything hot is very hard to serve and no, it's no easy to remake your eggs. The kitchen has 100+ tickets between 5 people cooking.
While brunch maybe overpriced, we won't make much money because there's no overturn.
People sit around long after they are done eating, ordering, and paying.
Taking the day off is not an option for us. I did leave a note 'fuk M'sD' but boss said he didn't read notes.

That’s why I have my annual hamburger at 5 guys - it’s become a family in joke after my well meaning family discovered you can’t get reservations same day for Mother’s Day and we ended up eating at 5 Guys because everyone was hangry. Now I kind of look forward to it (don’t really eat fast food rest of the year)!

Thanks for this!

We do something similar - dinner on mother day at a local tavern (I’m not a five guys fan, but that sounds like a great compromise). They bring me breakfast in bed and let me sleep in!

I just want breakfast in bed, even if it's dreadful.

My DH knows I'm off duty for all meals on Mother's Day and that if he wants us to go out, he has to make a reservation many weeks in advance. Usually he cooks instead, which is my preference. OP, are you a husband scrambling to plan something for your wife and/or mom?

As someone who never dines out on “amateur nights,” and as someone who always plans ahead and makes reservations, I am laughing at your entitlement.

do not go out on actual mothers day!!!!

that is amateur LOL. I said this in another post today too.

Sorry, you might actually have to prepare a meal for your wife or your mother.
