I mean, OP likes Crab Rangoon, which is the definition of Chinese American greasy food, so I don't think her place is anythign new or fancy. |
| I have this argument with my BF, the cheap stuff is what his good childhood memories are made of. We usually get something else if ordering together and I get the kind I like when just ordering for myself. |
|
I have a ridiculous amount of food allergies. I order from a safe place or cook at home and the rest of family orders together. If it’s just me and husband he may order with me or go to his favorite grease pit sub shop. I love the idea of ordering together, but for some dynamics it’s tricky.
Just get what you want. And have it delivered if it’s such a big deal. |
| Crab rangoon? Go to one of the Peter Chang restaurants and get the real stuff! |
| Did he also break your legs, steal your wallet, and smash your phone? Order yourself something else, dumbazz. What a stupid twit, what a stupid thread. |
What part of order and yet your own food did you not think applied to takeout? |
| OP, when we order pizza we sometimes order from two different places. One kid loves a major chain, the other likes a local place. Everybody is happy. |
| Get chicken fried rice. Or order uber eats for yourself |
| Let them order what they want. You get what you want. Why is this even a thread? |
Some people have control issues. I can 100% see my mom acting like OP whereas I would just get delivery from where I want and DH and DS can get theirs. But my mom has control issues and doesn't seem capable of thinking like that. Its either everyone agrees with her or she kind of pouts like a toddler. |
My MIL is like this, and her husband and my husband are used to catering to her and letting her get away with it. SIL and I have backbones and, frankly, enjoy leaving them in the dust. We will order from where we want, leave activities when we want, do our own thing when we want. Sometimes DH and FIL take the out and do what we’re doing, but often they will just look forlorn eating whatever MIL wanted while SIL and I say great, enjoy your takeout, we’re going out to the Mexican place down the street. |
Me too. It tastes good, but is gross and kind of repulsive at the same time. |
| ALternate locations. |
| We wouldn’t order from separate places. We would take turns though. Wherever you got the Chinese from last time, next time it’s the other person choice. If you don’t like the rangoons order something else. |
| Get your own food. And keep your opinions on what others choose to eat to yourself. No one likes the controlling, hyper-observant, scolding older woman, which is what you are warming up to be. |
