Your sadness is ridiculous. The person who wants the farther place is the one generating the extra work so shouldn’t complain about it since evidently they think it’s worth it. It’s takeout; you can literally eat together. Being sad about this easy way to please everyone is just silly.

Yup, just the ordinary day-to-day compromises in a family. But I'm sympathetic to OP's feelings about cheap greasy food!

I would just Uber eats for however many restaurants everyone wanted their food, but I could see my DH acting like OP so I only tell him after the order was put in.
Probably more expensive but, takeout is a rarity for us and it's supposed to make life easier.
