Otherwise, no.

Langley does not offer AP Comp Sci Pri. to freshman.

Why do some AP high schools allow this but not Langley?

Because Langley students are already special.

McLean may offer AP Comp Sci Pri to 9th grades but not Langley

McLean doesn't offer it to 9th graders either.

Yes, it does. But as I noted earlier it’s just one course.

No, it doesn't. AP Comp Sci is not offered to freshmen. Here is the McLean course catalog:

Look at the course catalog for Comp Sci for rising 9th graders (it is offered):

I don't know why AP Com Sci principles wouldn't be offered to 9th graders... it's very introductory and isn't really useful in getting college credit. It's about bringing non-coders into the computer science world.

At our FCPS HS, you are supposed to have Geometry before taking AP Com Sci A. But, if you have coding experience and you are a math-y kid (i.e. honors), you can get permission to take AP Com Sci A as a 9th grader.

In Arlington, many 9th graders take AP World History. In FCPS, 9th graders never take AP World Hist.

DP. I asked about this for Langley. They said it is because the demand for it is very high and they don't have specs for freshmen.

Funny since other high schools find a way to offer enough sessions.

Simple. Do what the TJ parents do:

AP or DE classes from the online campus and/or Virtual Virginia.

Do the kids do that during the school year

Really? Which "other high schools," other than the one already mentioned (and probably TJ) offer this AP class for freshmen? We'll wait.

AP CS principles is an option for 9th graders at LB.

Maybe see if your child can take it at Herndon HS. Kids from HHS can take academy classes at Langley so there’s already a bus going between the two schools. Actually, HHS offered several APs. *shrug*

Sorry, OP, your child likely isn't going to get into college because they can't take an AP course in 9th grade. Those are the breaks.

This is everywhere. 10 can take some pre-AP classes .

OMG. Langley has courses not available at most schools but if freshmen have to wait to take one class that freshmen at 10 other schools can take it’s an outrage. Better let Asra Nomani know so there can be another investigation!
