I mean, sure. But a 9 yr old being raped by a stranger during a home break in is an EMERGENCY. The kit processing should be treated as such.

Anyone raped would probably view apprehending the suspect as an emergency. Read up on rape kits processing time and it will piss you off.

NP and I hear you but I would hope as a society we want to protect children and see this horrendous crime as an emergency worth jumping to the front of the line for. A child rapist is the lowest of the low and so dangerous for our society.

It is utterly horrible, but this made the news because it was a stranger, a home invasion. Sex offenses against minors are happening every day in this county. Last year, there were almost 130 rapes and 260 sex offenses committed against children under 17. Actually, children make up the largest victim cohort by far. They all need to have evidence processed.

You’d be surprised how many politicians (and voters!) want sex with children normalized. Why do you think they’re ignoring this atrocity?

Processing rape kits is not a county priority.

God forbid you’d ever vote for another party.

You are either not illiterate in your grammatically incorrect usage of “democratic party” — Democrat is a proper noun and thus is capitalized, although really you are using it as an adjective for “party” in which case the correct usage is ”democratIC party.”

Or, you know this full well and used clumsy phrasing deliberately, because that’s what some right-wingers who hate America and all that it stands for do, thinking they are clever or something.

My money is on the latter scenario — you sound like one of “those.” Which makes your rejoinder about “God forbid you’d ever vote for another party” especially hilarious because three fingers are pointing back at you when you sneer like that.

In either case, it’s patently obvious you’re too dumb to have voting rights.

Looking at the charging documents, it appears that the rape kit was done in November 2021, but the results did not come back until April 2021 -- it was an immediate hit, and led to an immediate arrest, but it's so depressing that this person was circulating in the population for 5 months because it takes that long to do a rape kit even in these outrageous circumstances. The charging document notes that the police detective had interviewed the guy in an unrelated case in February, so that suggests that he might have committed an additional sex crime in February. I don't understand why we can't solve this problem.

How did they go back in time like that?
