If you are looking for a competitive team you will most likely need to wait until their next round of tryouts. There is a very small chance the top clubs would consider a player now, but that player will need to be the next Charlotte North. Weaker clubs will most likely take a few players now. Good luck with whatever decision your daughter makes. |
That is a major exaggeration: Charlotte North is a once in a generation player. It will be hard to make a top 5 club in NGLL but not that hard. |
Curious why you immediately want to leave. Frustration with MC or because being bought by St James? |
Of course the trolls are going to make that statement and then coil away |
As a parent who’s DD played for one of the top teams in her class and now plays for top 20 D1 team the previous poster is not far off noting you better be a next generation type player to crack a top team nut mid-season. |
| Can someone share the notification? DD plays for Stars and family belongs to ST James and I haven’t heard anything. |
| All fake news! You missed April 1 by a couple of weeks! But what a good laugh! |
| Jenna has confirmed to several parents that MC Elite has been or will soon be sold to STJ. But she will still be “managing” things. Hopefully she will manage to send an official communication out soon. What a s!@% show. |
| Wow, this is great news for girls lax in DMV. No way would teams be combining, assume STJ wants more market share, so probably more like STJ VA and STJ MD, just like Express for the boys or YJ and Ultimate for girls. MS families should be jumping for joy, a program that can taken u from MS to HS to college is the best model and now STJ $ behind a program who seems to churn out impact players in HS, wish we had that when my daughters were going through this. Isn’t that the point of club lacrosse for MS? Are there any HS players in the DMV starting/with major minutes who played Bethesda in 7th and 8th grade? |
That is my guess. In the short term the only thing that might change are the uniforms for the mce girls. Can’t see them messing with teams with tournaments starting in June. |
| My question would be to those who left MCE to go to Stars what are your thoughts on this? |
Teams and uniforms are not changing this summer. Summer and fall tournaments are booked, none of that is changing. Practice location not changing, STJ wanted access to MCE coaches and now MCE gets access to Kristen Carr and her staff (win win), new league for Middle School and more development opportunities, with communication and billing from STJ. This is a slow and strategic rollout crazy lax parents. People should be jumping for joy not tearing down tenured coaches who were all elite athletes/women lacrosse players. Sit back and enjoy the ride. |
not all of the coaches were elite-level women college players. besides that, just because someone was a college player does not automatically make that person a good coach. Also, a lot of the best players in the world struggle to teach/coach because the skillset just came easy to them. 10-1 they fire almost all the coaches within a year. There are two maybe three coaches that will survive and are worth keeping they aren't after the coaches they are after Maryland players and a foothold in MD. |
| Maybe MC Elite Admin can stop posting here and actually email its players about what is going on. |
