Ralph Yarl: Sweet, young teen shot trying to pick up siblings

WTAF is wrong with our country (well that is rhetorical b/c obviously it’s guns + racism). What a horrible mix. How awful! How in the world could anyone justify SHOOTING someone for ringing their doorbell. The kid wasn’t scaling the wall climbing into a window, he was doing what normal people do when they show up at your house. Ugh we have let the conservatives ruin this country with their “values.” Homeowner needs to go away for life, they are clearly a danger to the public.

Not only the homeowner, but all the fools that turned that boy away in the neighborhood. B

Exactly. The terror he must have felt and despair at being turned away. It’s like the story of the good Samaritain. Did someone eventually call for help for him or did the homeowner call the police. My heart literally hurts today.

So many people are willing to accept this kind of collateral damage and also dead school children just so they can have their guns just in case they need to protect their family from scary people which most people do not need to do 99% of the time. People with those values are on the brink of totally running the country, or we are already there. Second amendment proponents will be the death of many more of us.

Have they released the shooter’s name? The shooter needs to pay the consequences of his actions. There should be no protection of the shooter’s name, address and occupation. He should be immediately jailed for the protection of our young POCs. Our society and justice system is F’d up if his name is not immediately released and he is not already behind bars.

The victim was looking forward to his HS graduation, an international trip, and starting college. Break my f-ing heart, this poor by has had his plans derailed during what should be an exciting time in his life. I hope once he recovers he gets to do all this and more. He has a bright future ahead of him, while the shooter should look forward to a lifetime of meals served on a tray in prison.

What are the chances this story is as straight forward as presented? How many times do we get one skewed presentation intended to get everyone riled up just to find some key facts were missing from the first report? Once those facts start coming out, everyone loses interest and moves on to the next outrage.

Nope, it's just as it appears. I hope you find peace.

I guess it's too much to wait for evidence of this supposed racism. Tried and convicted already.

This reminds me of the poor Japanese foreign exchange student who, along with his friend, went to the wrong address looking for a Halloween party and was shot to death by the homeowner (white male, of course).

You can find some information online but before you go doxxing people, you should should be 100% sure. Because online sleuths don't have a great track record.

You say wait, but this all seems too familiar to me from my neck of the woods. Only difference was that in this case, shooter missed.
