Unisex bathrooms in LCPS

Not opposed to access to trans students at all btw. Just understand that teenagers are teenagers and bathrooms are already a source of problems in schools. [

Someone who has a modicum of common sense!

key word...adult.

No, it is now available for student use (and students of all genders do use it).

It was an adult bathroom. It has been converted to an all gender bathroom for students or adults to use.

Bathrooms now are a disciplinary nightmare. I’d prefer floor to ceiling stalls with a wide entry doo into the space so students can be supervised at the sinks.

You have a unisex bathroom in your home. What’s the big deal.

Also I am pretty sure they already exist. Just one person at a time in them.

I agree. Republicans should mind their own business and let trans students choose the bathroom that makes them comfortable. That option is free.

1,500 unrelated people do not live in my home.

Yeah. When i was in high school, we had single-gender bathrooms, and the bathrooms didn't have a door to the hallway. there was a bird-bath-type sink in each, but you could basically hear everything happening from the hallway.

honestly, if there a floor-to-ceiling walls and doors, there's no reason for there to be a door to the hallway, which would significantly reduce abuse of all kinds in the bathroom.

i wouldn't care at all if all public bathrooms were like this.

Such an ignorant comment!

Think about what you said.

This is the second ignoramus to spew the same ignorant comment. I worry for this world.

The fact that I have to articulate exactly why it's a stupid comment makes me sad. You don't have thousands of strangers using your bathrooms at home do you?

Agree with you pp. These people are so dependent on their tik-tok based talking points that they are completely incapable of a modicum of critical thinking.

It's the trans activists and their supporters who want to change the rules. The option to use the unisex bathroom is also free.

Wrong. Youngkin saying he is pro-unisex bathroom is bogus support of LGBTQ kids. It's a bandaid on the real issue and allows him to look moderate (votes/dollars) when he's not.

I understood it to be that that all girls and boys bathrooms would now be open to either gender? It's not just single use or 2-staff with doors. It's the entire bathroom facility right? That sounds like a situation ripe for abuse and problems. Schools are already having problems with kids in bathrooms (drug overdose, sexual assault for example). Seems like this will only increase the problems.

This. The entire bathroom facility is open to all girls and boys- is this correct?

At DD’s HS all bathrooms are either locked or monitored by staff anyway (because some kids really suck) so I don’t see this change mattering at all.

And to the PP who said the current all gender private bathrooms are for adults, that’s false. Students can and do use them and don’t need a reason. DD says that’s the only place she will poop when at school.
