Unisex bathrooms in LCPS

LCPS is considering this- I have no words. I am not ready for this at all.

We already have them. In my school changed the sign for one of the adult bathrooms (single toilet and sink behind a door) to say “all gender bathroom.” It’s also a disabled accessible bathroom so it makes sense that anyone be able to use it. NBD.

Are they not also bathrooms with multiple toilets and sinks?

They are considering converting or adding multi stall bathrooms with dividers floor to ceiling for unisex use. It has not been decided and is just one many options they are considering.

I think this is pretty common in other countries. Explain to me how it's any different from two single-stall bathrooms with an exterior sink? Oh right. It's not.

My DD would not mind this a bit. The doors on the stalls are too small and the cracks so large people can see through them. She uses the single person unisex bathrooms whenever she possibly can.

They should make each stall totally private and then remove the door to the bathroom itself to help prevent vaping and sex in the bathrooms. As it is, our HS locks all but 1-2 bathrooms during class times. She has to wonder around the whole school trying to find the unlocked bathroom.

Thanks to jerks who vape and skip class. This is why we can't have nice things. It has nothing to do with transgender.

You sound like my sister OP. She moved to a red state and put her kids in religious school because stuff like this gives her the vapors.

My kids would welcome this- they are not comfortable with urinals in MS/HS... whipping out their private part next to another kid. No thanks.

I understood it to be that that all girls and boys bathrooms would now be open to either gender? It's not just single use or 2-staff with doors. It's the entire bathroom facility right? That sounds like a situation ripe for abuse and problems. Schools are already having problems with kids in bathrooms (drug overdose, sexual assault for example). Seems like this will only increase the problems.

Not opposed to access to trans students at all btw. Just understand that teenagers are teenagers and bathrooms are already a source of problems in schools.
