This. Northwestern definitely has the best econ program among the three.

Northwestern by far

Vanderbilt seems to lilt more prepster and conservative.

Northwestern seems more diverse, with a prime location.

In terms of crime, Evanston Illinois more dangerous than Clayton, MO (St Louis County, not the city)

And in terms of excitement, it's worlds better.

I guess being mugged can be considered "exciting"

Another vote for Northwestern, but if you really can’t stand the cold Vanderbilt is a great option as well. Wouldn’t consider WashU

I know two kids at WashU in the BS in Business and Computer Sci program who seem to enjoy it.

If your DC is interested in entrepreneurship, WashU would be the strongest. Otherwise, all 3 are great places for business and comp sci - very different vibes so suggest you visit!

NWU is the best economics department among the three. But the difference shouldn't really matter for undergrads (as opposed to PhD students). I would choose based on locational preference. NWU is cold!

Nw unless your kid likes country music! -Vandy alum

Just visit all three, they're all close enough where other factors need to make the decision for you

WashU for a student not completely clear on what they want to major/minor in or want the flexibility to change their minds while in college. NW and Vandy don't have as much flexibility.

NU (seriously, if you don't know that you don't really know the school) has plenty of flexibility. What would make you say that?
