Huh? Didn't vote or chant for any of this. |
| The Ivy City Hotel reviews are alarming. There are several mentions of the doors not fully closing and many mentioning people pounding on the doors late at night. I wonder if the victims door was fully operational. Such a scary story. |
+1 it really is horrific. |
|
| This hotel needs to be burned to the ground. Isnt it where Relisha Rudd was murdered, as well as the high school girl from Wilson/JR who had gone to meet a man she had connected with online? Sick place. I shudder every time I drive past. |
It happened on Friday. You might be thinking of another woman stabbed to death there last July? |
| This is sickening. |
| The article I read says he didn't knock but just entered the room. I wonder why the door didn't automatically lock. Probably wasn't the first time he was trying to get into someone's room. |
| One of the TripAdvisor reviews from a few years back refers to problems with a dead bolt. It’s all pretty frightening, constant problems, and I bet this finally gets the city to close it down. |
The Google reviews say the doors didn’t fully close. I hope they do a thorough investigation on the safety of the hotel! |
Wait - don’t you vote straight “D” ? Aren’t you a democrat? If so, you voted to let criminals out of prison, end bail, “decriminalize” most minor crime, and not convict anyone. Are you seriously claiming, now, you did not know all of this ??? |
|
They did upgrade the hotel and the signage is very hip. To someone not from the area, they aren’t aware of this stretch of NY Ave.
Just a sad story. |
This did not have to happen. But murders like this will continue at a steady clip as long as we continue to let violent get away with their crimes as this man did. Just hope it doesn't happen to you or someone you love. |
| Unlocked? Every hotel I have ever stayed in worldwide has an automatically locking door. Every single one. You can add extra locking measures but the door needs a key automatically. |
| I hope the press sees this thread and does a story on the hotel. |
