mind boggling it’s only ranked #44 by USN given the level of selectivity and superlative quality of the admits. Is a gem that punches well above its weight, legitimately competing with the lower half of T25 (WashU, Cornell, Emory..)

let the haters hate but tippy top kids are applying (and often rejected) in droves..

Lots of consequential research coming out of there. Lots

Do they even admit any tippy top kids? They seems to prefer the next tier down..

Which admits? The half they count or the half they say don’t count? Or the 60 percent they admit without test scores?

Many schools have over enrollment and too many kids in the dorms, but y'all only want to post about Northeastern. Isn't this the seventh thread in as many days about Northeastern??

I dont know. Wasn't counting. Started because decisions came out. Anything else?

The stats of some of the non-admitted kids here are incredible. My kid (currently a freshman in Boston), was admitted EA last year into the Honors Program with an amazing merit scholarship. He had a 3.98 GPA/4.53 wGPA with an IB Diploma and 5 AP's with a 35 ACT, and very solid EC's with excellent leadership skills (Eagle Scout, 2-year captain of varsity and club hockey teams). He was rejected by UVa (in-state), Williams (legacy), Amherst, Yale, MIT, and Duke, and was admitted to NU, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, and JMU. Seems like he might have had a tougher time with NU this year. He is having an excellent experience so far.

Glad to hear! I have heard positive feedback from the Northeastern students I know. It is the vague sour grapes statements (on DCUM) that strike me as odd.

Northeastern likes high stat kids.

In all seriousness. Is Northeastern anyone’s real first choice..?

Well, lots of kids want an urban campus and don’t want state school football. And many kids prefer a college that is not affiliated with a religion. Boston is a great town for college students.

Those are ridiculous reasons to choose a school.
