SEC Workers - how does it feel to finally be going back?

No wonder bitcoin is a mess and unregulated. The regulators are asleep, on the internet, or otherwise resting on the job.

Pretty sure the 10th floor and/or legislators decide what is regulated and how. If someone puts the work on my desk, I do it - if not I can’t just individually decide to regulate bitcoin so I just collect my check and rack up my pension.

two days a pay period. also clarified in the new bargaining agreement is that a day counts as "in office" as long as more than 50% of your hours are actually in the office. so you could make a few meetings, go home before rush hour, and finish out the day remote.

Yeah, this is not a return. Not really.

That’s what makes it so sweet. It’s a - stop by once in a while - return.

What are the easier offices?

Is that all SEC pays?! I'm a finance prof making 350 for about six hours of work per week on average. Glad I'm not a glorified government secretary

And this is why college is broken. Student loans to the tune of $80k/yr to support bloated faculty who barely teach at all. Plus those gilded stadiums and massage lounges for the football buffs.

the sec will reimburse up to $120,000 in student loans, $10k/per year. (so, uh, you'd have to work there for 15 years to get the full benefit)

the 2023 salary cap will be around 273k, but any raises that would take you over the cap are paid out as a one-time bonus for that year. could be worse.

I thought by prof this person meant professional not professor. Everyone here sounds like a pretty horrible human being - Signed an actual financial professional

Oh right, because financial traders, not professors, have a reputation for only working 6 hours a week...

Thanks for helping me believe that government is wisely spending my tax dollars. You sound like a loser.

The person who started this thread (you?) sounds like a loser — immature and looking to gloat.

I work 45 hours per week and make about 1M. You’re doing better than me - and 99.9% of America - on an hourly basis for sure. Congrats.

Yep, and people who were “previously” approved for less than 2 days in-office per PP are grandfathered in. So, if you were smart, you updated your Worksmart schedule for 9 day telework during Covid. If you did, you only have to come in 1 day per PP.

Any guesses what the most popular in offices days will be? I feel like if I’m going to the office I may as well see people. Seems like lots of mgmt comes in Tuesday - any guesses on 2nd most popular day?

You are correct, the sucker here is the taxpayer.
