SEC Workers - how does it feel to finally be going back?

Does it feel real? Leaving your pajamas for the commute?

So I’ll go surf the internet at the office instead of home once in a while. Shrug. Still a pretty sweet gig doing nothing for 230k.

Thanks for helping me believe that government is wisely spending my tax dollars. You sound like a loser.

I’m happy to be going back but am also thankful for the flexibility to telework more frequently than before.

Is that all SEC pays?! I'm a finance prof making 350 for about six hours of work per week on average. Glad I'm not a glorified government secretary

How many days a week is the “return” now?

I suspect the 230k SEC guy works at least 6 hours a week, even if its just reading email. But now i'm sad I only make 210k and actually work all week. OTOH, glad I'm not worried about layoffs like meta/amazon/google folks.

two days a pay period. also clarified in the new bargaining agreement is that a day counts as "in office" as long as more than 50% of your hours are actually in the office. so you could make a few meetings, go home before rush hour, and finish out the day remote.

230 and doing nothing - definitely for real. It all depends on where you are at the SEC. Some divisions and offices you’d work all week for that 230, some you work not at all.
