Same question about price per session and what location did you use

I just did some leg work to find a personal trainer in Alexandria. I start Tuesday. I think you should plan for about $100 per hour for a PT, give or take a bit depending on the gym/location. This is for a 45 min session. A lot of personal training studios offer 30 min sessions for lower cost.

I worked with a trainer for a long time and then started going to F45 classes and then eventually dropped my trainer. For me, I was working out virtually in my gym and it was boring. I need people and socialization. I train with friends now and it's so much more fun and a LOT less expensive. You may want to look into F45 as an alternative to OT. For a trainer, if you are in the DC area, try one-to-one fitness. They have a lot of different locations and you'll be able to find a trainer that fits your personality and goals if you go that route.

How much is the one-to-one fitness?

NP. I'm new-ish to OTF (joined 6 months ago). My home studio has had four managers in that time and many of the coaches have come and gone too. Is this typical or a red flag?

I don’t know if it’s the same everywhere, but the Orange Theories in my city have a discount if you sign up during August. $149/mo for the unlimited.

180 bucks a month to run on a treadmill for 30 minutes at OTF. Just go to a gym for 39 bucks.

I love OTF because of the AIO aspect of every workout. It leaves me options for what I choose to do on my own. Typically, I go 3-4 times a week and workout on my own (run or lift) 2-3. Personally, I’ve built quite a bit of muscle with OTF alone. But, my goal is to be functionally fit and feel good, not to bench press my kids or rip through my shirt when I flex, although that would be cool. I’ve worked out with a trainer before, and got amazing results BUT the only part I enjoyed were the days I met with the trainer. The “homework” was boring.

I’m a 49 year old woman almost 50 pounds into what I hope will be 100 pound weight loss on Wegovy. I hired a personal trainer through DeHenzel Training Systems in NOVA. They did an in depth interview, a medical intake, talked to me about my goals and what motivated me— and matched me with an excellent trainer. It’s about $100 an hour, but he comes to my house twice a week with kettlebells, resistance bands, ankle weights, etc. I’m working around some arthritis, an old knee injury and surgery recovery. Getting the 1:1 help for my specific issues to avoiding another injury is very helpful. It’s a very collaborative process, which is what I need. And he gave me several great 10 minute mini stretch and strength breaks I do during the day. And ramps them up every few weeks. I then add biking 3 times a week on my own. If I feel I can do more, we add more. If an exercise is painful for my injured knee, he finds a different way to work the same muscle. My balance is still off after joint surgery, so we do exercise that focus on strengthening my weaker side and on balance. Etc.

According to my weight loss clinic Inbody scans and my scale at home, I’m not gaining muscle— but I’m also not losing any. Fat loss only. Which with significant weight loss (about 10 pounds a month maintained since April) a woman my age is a big concern for my MD and dietician.
