+1. At least they have common sense on something. (And I am a liberal on almost every other issue).

Well for starters many people won’t be going to jail and leaving their family without a husband and father.

don't be so dramatic. those numbers are so overblown. And it's illegal. are you mad that people who get caught doing illegal things get in trouble?

dems ruin everything and conservatives hate freedom.

If places like Portland and SF weren't such messes, freedom hating conservatives wouldn't be afraid of people consuming a plant.

Yes actually making something natural and harmless illegal just to screw over those who you don’t like is immoral. So republicans are not only immoral but hypocritical as well. One single non-violent person whose life is harmed by the state for possessing cannabis is one too many.

What makes you think that Portland and SF are “such messes” due to pot use?

They won't have all of the idiots smoking weed in public and smoking weed while driving like we do here. It is absolutely out of control.

And yet you have not actually been harmed in any quantifiable way, hm.

By your logic:

“Cigarettes are natural and harmless.”

Too stoned to think logically? Or are you simply too selfish and stupid?

+1

The freedom of one ends where the freedom of the other begins.

I would love for a Republican to explain how conservatives love freedom and how putting people in prison for a plant is ideologically consistent with a broad right to personal freedom?!

Blahblahblah.

If you want to have a real conversation, start with an open mind, not dumb talking points.

I have never been personally harmed by a drunk driver. Does that mean drinking and driving isn't bad?

What asinine logic you have. As if having anyone on the road with impaired judgment due to drugs or alcohol is a great idea.

I thought conservatives believed in the free market? If SF is so terrible then why are house so expensive? If rural true America is so great, why is property so cheap?

Its not. They are messes because of lots of other liberal policies related to sentencing and other drug use, not weed related. Other people see that and slippery slope their way up to pot... gateway drug and all that nonsense. Libs have no moderation and cons are afraid of everything and weed gets hurt in the process for people who just want to watch the Simpsons.

Is it really harmless to make it easier for people to develop habits that diminish the quality of their lives? “But it feels good” you might say. Rats pressing levers feel good too. If you promote weed then you’re pushing back against things that might be more spiritually useful - exercise, conversation, reading, even plain boredom. It’s not the worst thing in the world but neither is it purely morally neutral.

Selfish are the ones who want to punish me for smoking in my own home. Tobacco is not criminalized so does that mean that you are too stupid to make an apt comparison?
