No, definitely not all 4.0. But all students with about a 3.5 or better. |
There is no GPA requirement...was pretty shocked when I read the rubric. |
| Yes, I don't think I realized that either, but when the other rubrics are analyzed even SWW seems like it interviews students beyond the very top. Anecdotally, I think that isn't true. |
Honestly, it seems like a lot of the rubrics use the same language. |

My DC interviewed at Banneker 2 weeks ago, 2 friends interviewed the week before.
Had not heard from McKinley Tech re interview until this week but a few friends had interviewed early Feb. The schools are sending interview invites in waves. |
Would you be able to speak to the structure of the interviews and any noticeable differences in approach or application? |
| Has anyone not heard from Banneker? |
| Yes, my child hasn't. |
Oh ok, DC hasn't either. Thanks. |
| I wonder if there was a cutoff this year. I'm honestly surprised we haven't heard. |
have you been checking your spam folder? All of my emails about interviews for my kid have gone there |
McKinley Tech pretty much takes everyone who applies. They cannot afford to be choosy as they need to fill spots and there is limited interest in the school |
I have and nothing. Also, emails from McKinley and Walls hit my primary inbox. |
Never heard from them last year..Flipped our lottery rankings and made Walls our top choice. Ended up there. Just be prepared to do so. |
This actually isn't true. I teach middle school in DCPS and I have students who didn't get in. |
