The Best Salad You Ever Had. Thoughts?

My favorites are a Pittsburgh steak salad with French fries, shredded cheese, and ranch dressing, or a big salad bar salad with everything piled high and ranch. In real daily life, our go to favorite is spinach salad with warm garbanzos, lemon juice, olive oil, fresh grated parm, and fresh ground pepper.

Sad that your "salad" has more non-vegetables than vegetables.

I love a salad of arugula, sugar bomb tomatoes, either shaved Parmesan or fresh mozzarella, balsamic glaze, olive oil and black pepper.

One of the two of you comes off badly here…and it’s not chopped salad lover.

I actually don’t think it’s Sad. In reality, the non-vegetable things are much smaller in amount than the lettuce and vegetables,. but that being said it’s so much more healthy than most meals.

Similar to OP's favorite salad I just love 7 layer salad. Maybe not the best nutritionally but it sure is awesome and if you bring it to a party it will be gone very quickly.

I like the Guacamole Greens salad from Sweet green. And they’ve had some seasonal salads I loved including one seasonal one with corn tomatoes and I think pistachio nuts that was a revelation to me.

I am addicted to homemade greek salad. Very fresh romaine, thinly sliced red onion, cukes and tomatoes, a little black olive and pepperoncini, feta, green pepper, and then a bomb homemade salad dressing of olive oil, lemon juice, red wine vinegar, garlic, oregano, bit of water so it's not too heavy, dijon, lots of salt and ground pepper.

Charlie Bird (in NYC) farro salad. So many flavors and not difficult to make:

I love a sloppy caprese. I want all the ingredients - summer tomatoes, fresh basil and greens, oil & vinegar, S&P - mixed together in a huge bowl, along with a crusty baguette to sop it all up

That salad was a staple at potlucks in the early eighties, when I was little. It was always served in a 9x13” glass dish. I don’t understand how you’d serve and eat it out of a trifle bowl, where the top inch is that goopy, sweetened mayo dressing and then you’ve got 5 more inches other ingredients.

I've never had it with the mayo sweetened, that sounds gross.
