| No. Stop it. This is not necessary. |
| No and I didn't give them anything when they were kids either. I did help them get some valentines together to bring to school. I think valentine's day is a holiday recognizing romantic love and it would be inappropriate to give something to my kids. I don't really even understand why kids give each other valentines when they are young. |
Be politely honest. She is your mom. |
| I do but thinking its unnecessary and not expected. |
| Valentines Day is traditionally a celebration of romantic love. Isn’t it a bit weird to send your kids something? |
I think it becomes a habit after buying candy for kids in school. |
No gifts are "necessary". |
| Yes |
| Send cash |
|
Yep.
A nice card and $14 cash to get an app or something at dinner. Just to let them know we are thinking of them...... |
| My 10 and 12 year old didn’t get anything. Can’t imagine I will start a tradition later in life. |
| I face time with my two adult kids about once a week at their request, sometimes we even invite my ex in to the chat. So we have a good relationship that doesn't require any of us to send each other Valentine cards or candy. |
But you are buying candy for them to do valentine exchange at school and your kid eats candies they get from their friends. I would find it weird weird to get a box of chocolates and gift to my kid to eat! I do buy something for the family not specifically to kids. I don't think I will suddenly start a valentine tradition when they are off to college. |
| College kid got a dinosaur valentine card and a Chipotle gift card, HS kid got a M&M’s heart plastic candy box. It’s just a little something to brighten their day, not deep |
| Yes, I did when they were single, married and now with grandkids. It’s fun. |
