It’s already been approved. Don’t think the neighbors have much more say beyond protesting Kindergartners at 8am. The letter from the school made it very clear with what they’re doing with the trees which sounds more than reasonable.

So they are cutting down all those trees? I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.

This is deeply incorrect and the poster is peddling misinformation. Please inform yourself about the tree work on the site before posting patently false information.

Ironic considering how much Maret pushes the the trees on its own land to be critical to the school’s identity.

Not that facts matter, but they are actually transplanting the heritage trees.

Maret parent. From what I understand both are right. Some Heritage trees are being transplants and some have been determined unable to transplant due to health.

Additionally, (borrowing language):

As part of our field project, in addition to caring for the relocated heritage trees, we will be planting a wide variety of new trees, plants, and shrubs, and will also be installing a comprehensive stormwater management system that will significantly improve conditions on and around the field.

Maret is now buying the whole campus. will they move the lower school there? Does anyone know the vision?

Look to the FAQs that they sent around today in the email to parents and you’ll see the details there.

Do the kids ride buses? How long does it take to get there?

No they have built a private subway stop.

They are planning a hog farm. 1000 head so not too large but free range! There will be a hog drive every fall.

This times 1 million. Maret should not be permitted to host games on the back field. It is not close to regulation size and dangerous for all involved.

GDS field though might be worse.

Yes good call. Shut down more fields in DC.

So do you put the k-8 at ECC and 9-12 at Maret site? Will class size also increase? Which campus do you rebuild first?

Also curious to learn more about Maret’s plans for the property if anyone can inform us.

If you have questions after reading through the FAQs that they sent to parents, there is a link in the portal that allows you to submit them directly to school leadership. I don’t think asking in a random forum is going to get you any answers. If you’re just trying to throw out random questions to spark controversy, then that’s obviously a different issue and by all means, ask away here.
