Has the superintendent done anything useful to help the Key community address what happened? I’m very skeptical that removing the principal will help the students and staff navigate this. |
He hasn't shown up to any of the meetings or been on any communications. He's been totally MIA. |
With what’s tough on and how badly they botched it, she should be fired. |
What did she do to botch it? All of the reports I've heard is that she followed APS policy to the letter. It's the policy that's a mess. |
I don’t want the principal to leave. That’s ridiculous. The student that wrote it is a mental case. |
She was an AP at Claremont. As the Key AP is a first year AP I guess they were desperate for someone with experience, especially, since you know, the school is switching to an 80/20 Spanish instruction model next year for K/1. |
If you a Key parent, please write to Dr. Duran and the school board about this. |
Before they discuss in the closed meeting on Thursday! |
+1. We were so very relieved as a community when she was removed. We almost lost so many excellent teachers to her toxicity and micromanagement. Do not take this lying down, Escuela Key!! |
She was a terrible assistant principal during her short time at CIS and many in that community were more than a little bit surprised at the time that she had been promoted to principal of Taylor. |
Another Claremont here parent who interacted with her as part of my child's IEP process--very much did not care for her. Sorry, Key. But, also, that threat sounds really terrible particularly in light of what recently happened in Newport News--there really cannot be any wiggle room on taking things as seriously as possible and acting immediately. |
Current Key Parent, we did not know that... but also not surprised about the "scapegoat" part. Sr. Predomo is wonderful principal... so sad to see this. Hope she comes back soon. |
It matters whether she followed policy. What a nightmare for Key if they take away their principal for following APS policy. |
This. If she followed policy, it’s a bigger APS problem and an effective leader shouldn’t be losing their job. |
Even if policy wasn't followed perfectly, they should look at whether it was clearly written and if retraining is appropriate. Maybe she did show a fatal flaw in judgment, but if that's true it's not apparent to the school community. |
