| I had a 2016 RDX that was lost during hurricane Ian. It was a great vehicle and totally trouble free. I’m looking for an MDX to replace it. I chose Acura because we also own 3 MB’s at our permanent home. They are also great cars but, 1) not trouble free and 2) expensive to maintain. The Acura was at our winter home in Florida and would sit for up to 8 months of the year and then start right up again with no issues. The German cars, in my experience, don’t like sitting for long periods. One other thing, the Acura service experience is the best I’ve ever had. I’d imagine Lexus is as good or better. |
| Love the RDX/MDX generally but we wound up with a Lincoln last year when I was convinced I was going to want an Acura. The price differential between Acura and loaded comparable Honda is not significant. However, it did feel kind of “meh” to me once I actually drove it. For the same price the Lincoln felt much more luxury. Literally never expected to buy a Lincoln but I looked at all of the “nicer” mainstream brands and it just won out. Look around and see what you like! |
I had the opposite reaction. I had an MDX that I loved for years, then when it was time to replace I took a Mercedes for a test drive and couldn’t go back. The features on MDX don’t come close and neither does the ride. Was definitely worth the extra $$ for me. |
Well what I love about the MDX is that it doesn't come with the stigma of being a rich person's car with the comforts of a rich person's car. Also like the price tag. |
Where? Pohanka? If so I am very interested. |
Not really. The X5 is only a 5 seater. |
| I went from a Pilot to an MDX. I loved my Pilot, but I LOVE my MDX. Have had it 5 years and have only had to do routine maintenance. I feel like I sunk more into the Pilot for repairs. Plus it is more comfortable and handles better. |
Which EV do you have? |
OP I am with you although I just switched to Lexus instead of Acura. We have had Toyotas, Hondas, Acura & Audis. The Audi's were Q5's 2017 & 2020. Besides great seats and quiet ride, junk is absolute junk. PreSense literally tried to kill me like three times. The 2020 has a recall Audi fixed by putting a ziplock bag over a part. Seriously??!! And our local service for Audi dealer omg beyond bad. OP our choice was back to Acura MDX or Lexus RX. We switched to Lexus just for a change. We loved our Acura's that by the way went to like 250 miles with no issues. The Audi's less than 30,000 needed tires at 17,000 both years. And do not get me started on how both Audi's needed oil like every month. |
We have The Car That Shall Not Be Named - Tesla x. We live in a much snowier climate and it handles great in the snow. We charge the car with solar panels, unless the panels are covered with snow, which they are now. It drives differently than a gas car, but still has that kind of responsive handling that I associate with Hondas and Acura’s and less so with Toyotas and American cars, which I find a little on the loose side for me. |
We had Lexus, Toyota, Acura, Volvo and bmw. I liked the Acura and the Volvo the best, Toyota and Lexus very close behind. Japanese cars were the winners on easy maintenance and reliability. Volvo was great but cost more to maintain. BMW looked nice. What is PreSense? Does it brake for you? |
Which dealer? Those I called were unwilling to give any discount off msrp |
It's still a Honda. |
Yes thanks goodness! That’s the point. |
Yes, it brakes for you. Totally stopped the car on the Hwy. Seatbelts crush you. Not fun. Plus our local Audi dealership service was the absolute worst. |
